Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Speaker of Congress has made a shocking statement saying that Monero and other PrivacyCoins using similar technology should be banned as a manner of national security. Pelosi said “Monero & other PrivacyCoins are one of the greatest threats to national security. Fraudsters can easily and anonymously hide and launder money, terrorists can pay for weapons that we cannot track. There is no reason for this technology to exists and the treasury should see to it that these type of cryptocurrencies are banned.”
Monero soared 20% upon this news, perhaps some bulls believing that Monero’s technology is truly uncrackable and this is a bullish look for Monero. Nancy Pelosi was seen stuffing her face with ice cream.
